frogs

An interesting bit for you all. You know how in America everyone, well most people, are scared of or dislike spiders. Well, frogs are the Malian’s equivalent of spiders in terms of phobias. I’ve seen grown men and women shriek at the site of a frog, they will not touch them. However from my observations most Malians have no problem touching spiders, picking live spiders up by their legs or killing scorpions. I’ve asked why about the fear, but I’ve never really gotten a clear answer, just that “they’re bad.”
